Product introduction

Hot rolled steel coil is made by reheating a continuous cast slab to around 1100–1250 °C, descaling it, and rolling it above the recrystallization temperature before it is coiled by the down coiler. Rolling at high temperature gives the steel good formability, toughness and weldability, which is why hot rolled coil is used for shipbuilding, automotive parts, bridges, construction and steel structures, machinery, pressure vessels and gas containers. We supply HRC in Q195, Q235B, Q355B, SS400, S235JR and SAE1006, from 1.2–25 mm thick and 600–1500 mm wide, in coil weights of 3–30 MT, in hot rolled black or pickled and oiled (HRPO) finish, with mill edge or slit edge, and an MTC to EN 10204 3.1 issued with every shipment.

Standard mill finish for structural and general engineering use. Supplied in coil, or slit and cut to length.

HRPO — pickled & oiled

Descaling removed by pickling, oiled for temporary corrosion protection. Better surface for painting, forming and welding.

Slitting & cut-to-length

Slit edge (EC) coils or cut-to-length sheets to your width and length. Lead time about 7 working days.

How your coil is produced and checked

Slab reheating

Continuous cast slab is reheated to about 1100–1250 °C in the reheating furnace.

Descaling and roughing

High-pressure water descaling, then rolling through the roughing stands.

Finishing rolling

Rolled above the recrystallization temperature, which gives the coil good formability and weldability.

Coiling and further processing

Coiled by the down coiler. On request the coil is further supplied pickled and oiled (HRPO), slit or cut to length.

Inspection before shipment

Surface, dimensions, coil weight, packaging and mechanical properties are checked against your specification before the goods leave the yard.

Documents

MTC to EN 10204 3.1 is issued with every shipment. SGS or BV third-party inspection on request.

What is your MOQ for hot rolled steel coil?

Stock sizes start from one 20GP container (approx. 22–26 MT), and different sizes can be combined in the same container. For mill production the minimum is about 100 MT per size, depending on the grade and the rolling schedule. Send us your thickness and width and we will confirm the exact minimum for that size.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. We provide free samples up to 300 × 300 mm; the freight is at the buyer’s cost. Samples are cut from the exact coil we would ship, so you can check surface, thickness and hardness before placing the order.

What is the delivery time?

Stock sizes: within 3 days. Slitting or cut-to-length: about 7 working days. Mill production: 20–30 days depending on the grade and tonnage.

What payment terms do you accept?

T/T and irrevocable L/C at sight. Other terms can be discussed for repeat orders and long-term contracts.

Can you provide MTC and third-party inspection?

Yes. An MTC to EN 10204 3.1 is issued with every shipment. SGS or BV third-party inspection can be arranged on request, at the buyer’s cost.

What dimensional tolerance do you deliver to?

GB/T 709 PT.A (normal thickness accuracy) is our default. PT.B (higher accuracy) is available if you state it in the contract, and we can also hold the tolerance written in your own specification. Thickness and width tolerance are recorded on the MTC so you can verify them on arrival.

Can you slit or cut to length?

Yes. We supply slit edge (EC) coils and cut-to-length sheets to your width and length, with a lead time of about 7 working days.

How much fits in one container?

A 1 × 20GP holds approximately 22–26 MT depending on thickness, width and coil weight. A 40HQ does not carry much more, because road weight limits usually bind before volume does. Tell us your size and we will calculate the loading and the number of containers for your quantity.
